Inland Imaging to Open Region’s First Comprehensive Breast Health Center

State-of-the-art technology, services in one location, and specialized radiologists and staff will mean faster answers for patients.

Inland Imaging has started construction on a new facility in Spokane that will change the way patients experience breast cancer screening, testing, and diagnoses. The center will be the first of its kind in Eastern Washington.

Set to open in September 2026, Inland Imaging’s Breast Health Center will offer comprehensive services under one roof – including mammography, ultrasound, breast MRI, biopsies, risk assessment, genetic testing, and other services. With on-site radiologists who specialize in breast imaging and with all services in one location, results will be faster and patients who need additional imaging will be seen sooner, including same-day biopsies.

“In one location, patients will receive the information and support they need to take charge of their health journey,” radiologist Dr. Paige Flett said. “By providing the best imaging possible, same-day biopsies, and a specialized care team, we are improving care delivery, patient experience, and health outcomes.”

Inland Imaging is also investing in industry-leading technology like contrast-enhanced mammography, whole-breast ultrasound, and AI-assisted imaging analysis – providing more comfortable mammograms and high-quality images for faster, more accurate results.

Staff, including a patient navigator who provides support and information for patients and loved ones, will be on-site to help provide a calm, comforting environment. A coffee bar, soft lighting, relaxing music, and quiet consult rooms are part of the clinic’s design. For many people, getting mammograms and follow-up imaging can be stressful.

“The Breast Health Center will not feel like a clinical setting,” Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Heimbigner said. “In this reimagined facility, we are intentionally designing a wellness-focused space that will create a sense of calm, comfort, and community for our patients. It’s a place where self-care meets life-saving care.”

The Breast Health Center is under construction and will be centrally located at 801 S. Stevens St. in downtown Spokane. Free, convenient, off-street parking will be available for patients. Inland Imaging will continue to provide breast imaging services at its eight additional locations in Spokane and the Tri-Cities.

“Breast health is more than a mammogram,” Heimbigner said. “By reducing the waiting time between testing and results, we’re giving patients faster answers – whether it’s confirming a diagnosis or offering the relief of results that came back clear.”
